From Bartlett to Kansas City via St. Louis with a stop in MIZZOU!

A few pictures from today's journey! More details to come tomorrow. I am off to hit the treadmill...Dave

And now for the details...
We were sad to say goodbye to Mama Pat, but we knew we had to hit the ground running for our long day of traveling. Our end destination was Kansas City, KS.

I came up with a fourmula for the day:
2xD^3+1CS=500+m
What does this mean?
We hit 2 Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives restaurants and 1 college stadium to equal over 500 miles of driving!

Our first stop was Sweetie Pie's at the Mangrove in St. Louis, MO. We found the country home cookin' joint on flavortownusa.com. The buffet line was incredibly long, but so worth it! You can tell from David's face how excited he was to splurge a little. I was so enthralled with the mac n cheese..I wish I had a plate full of it. Needless to say, we would recommend the place if you ever are in St. Louis. Note the people in the pic were some television crew folks.

Off to Kansas City...well with one little detour.
We stopped at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. It was a pretty campus; so cool to see the columns that were built in the 1840s...crafted with limestone carried by oxcarts..amazing ( didn't post pic of these). David was quite disappointed that he couldn't get into the stadium...he wanted us to shout the MIZ-ZOU cheer back and forth. LOL! He is hoping for better access for future stadium stops (Where is John Gay when Dave needs him?).
Now we are really ready to go on to Kansas City, KS.

It was a really interesting looking city with a variety of architecture. We made our way to the art district where Grinder's was located, yet another triple D place for us to check out. By far the most unique restaurant we have been in....it was sweltering hot from the pizza ovens and a crazy atmosphere with stolen skateboards hanging on the wall...our food was really good (Dave got 2 slices of pizza, I got a pepperoni calzone). We then headed back to the hotel...Dave was ready to exercise in the fitness room, and I was ready for bed.
